Like 5 strait INTs in camp and then took us to the Super Bowl. How in the world can you say he’s the worst pick of all time because he has looked bad in camp? Besides, he’s had several good days. There have been ups and downs, but that’s to be expected.

Plus, he’s a super high upside project. I read a stat the other day that Brady threw more passes last year than Lance has in like 5 years. Of course he isn’t going to look great right away.

Not sure why you think we for sure would have gotten him at 12. If you like a guy, you go get him, you don’t hope he falls to you. Especially when there are other teams that clearly need a QB. Maybe he would have fallen, but we don’t know that for sure.

Lance would have been the #1 overall pick in this most recent draft. Two 1’s for a potential #1 overall pick isn’t a bad deal. It’s a risk, sure. But if he ends up as even 75% if Josh Allen, it’s an absolute steal.

I’ve said this before, but the 49ers played their hand perfectly. They’ve had a Super Bowl level roster for several years. Their QB clearly wasn’t the guy to get them over the hump, and when he got hurt, it put them in position to trade up and take a big swing. It also gave them a chance to let Lance sit for a year. The 49ers played in the NFCC game AND got an elite prospect. It may not work out, but the 49ers couldn’t have played this better.

Anyways, here’s my point: fans label a player way too early. But it’s too early to call any of these year 2 QBs a good pick or bust. Especially Lance, when he’s thrown fewer than 300 passes in the NFL and college. There will be some ugly moments, but I think there will be a lot of good moments too. Its too early to call him (or any other second year QB) a bust, much less the worst pick of all time.
