We definitely can...I'd just feel a lot more comfortable looking good in Week 1 (see 2020) than struggling against USF
2019 we "stormed back" to barely beat Boise St and Liberty before losing to San Diego St and Hawaii to end the year.

I'm hoping for a special season, so 2019 isn't the goal. Beyond that, the last time we struggled in an opener against an overmatched team and pulled out a win with only 20 points was ... 2017. Like I said, if the 56-0 and the 20-17 result didn't augur anything else for the rest of the season, it wouldn't matter to me. But playing well is generally the best indicator of playing well in the future.
