doesn't do anything but potentially injure you. Unless you have a perfect shot to go in through the eye opening of the facemask, I would think the better thing to do would be to just grab and yank on the facemask. And if you've really lost it and want to go for the gusto, then pull and twist to try to get the helmet off and then it's on.
