It's not ranked near the bottom
In 2020 it was 20th highest adjusted for cost of living, 24th without adjusting for COL.

In 2015, it was around 30th.

In the past couple years salaries have increased even more. A teacher from our school applied for several positions in Utah simply because of the pay increase. She said it was actually somewhat competitive and she didn't think she'd get hired in Utah. She did eventually get a job and starts this year.

I talked to an education administrator from Tooele and confirmed that salaries have increased and Utah will be climbing the average salary list relative to the rest of the country.

There's been significant improvement over the past decade.
