On what the expectations/requirements are including horrific call burdens.
It’s the way that medicine has framed call as not being work that kills me. I get zero credit for a 72 hour call shift as if that’s not truly work. I don’t go three hours without interrupted sleep all weekend.
Dedicated shift work is better and there’s likely no escaping that but often their shift requirements would never fly in any other industry.
But how these hospitals can get away with this in employment models is beyond me.
