My dog story
We had an Akita growing up in California, the dog was terribly misbehaved, caused all sorts of problems and although it was never aggressive with people it was always looking to attack other animals. We lived next to an orchard that had skunks and that stupid dog would catch and eat skunks once or twice a year.

At any rate, one day he broke a board out of the fence and we saw him escape into the park behind our house so my brother and I started getting our shoes on so we could go capture him and bring him back but as we went outside and started heading for the fence he came back into the yard (highly unusual) and we could see he had something in his mouth.

As we got closer we could see he had this little white Maltese dog in his mouth. We immediately knew it belonged to the old lady who would walk her dog around the park in a baby stroller every day!

My brother and I spent several minutes trying to catch him but he was treating like a game like when he would get a ball and just run to stay away so we couldn’t get it. We were screaming at that dumb dog but still wound up taking a couple of minutes yo finally get him and remove the dog. I was expecting the worst but upon inspection (by a couple of 11 and 13 year olds) there seemed to be no puncture wounds and no blood, somehow the dog seemed basically uninjured.

We immediately took this little dog back out yo the park and sure enough found that old lady sitting on a bench just sobbing. We slowly approached and handed her dog to her and she just hugged that thing so tight. We didn’t stick around and the old lady was Asian and spoke very little English but as we walked away she seemed to start yelling “Beast, Beast Beast!!!”

We just went back home and finished playing Nintendo like nothing ever happened. Parents came home from work that evening and we never talked about it and never heard back from the old lady although her daily walks in the park seemed to continue for years into the future.
