Oregon State beat #2 Purdue, tied #2 UCLA, and beat #1 USC over the next four weeks.
BYU held the "Giant Killers" to their 3rd lost score of the year and scored 13 more against them than any other opponent. Beaves finished #7 in the rankings.
It was the first BYU game that I ever attended.
BTW, Lavell was an assistant to HC Tommy Hudspeth, and coached the defense at the time of this game.
