top nemesis for recruiting doing poorly is good for BYU recruiting...thus good for BYU success. So passively hoping our competition for recruits tanks is not somehow a weird thing or an obsessive thing, it's just sound logic - other than what we hope doesn't impact what actually happens - yet we can still hope they tank so we get a higher hit rate on top recruits (feel the same about Stanford to a lesser extent).
