Most of those quotes appeared to be taken directly out of the documentary. The documentary was pretty good though, and it really made me feel for Manti.
On a side note, I almost found it gag worthy that Swarbrick was quoted in the program many times talking about Notre Dame's unquestioned commitment to ethics, etc. But I digress...
Anyway, BYU would have been very fortunate to have a Heisman contending LB, and it would have been very interesting to see how Manti's life or success might have played out differently at BYU.
It was also interesting to see clips of his cousin and BYU safety, Shiloh. I had almost forgotten about that dude. Too bad that it didn't work out for him or BYU.
CB shouldn't pile on this one. Manti seems like a very good and humble dude that got played by a terrible human being before "catfishing" was really a widely known thing, and Manti and his family really suffered for it all unfairly in the end.
I kept thinking of my boys and how badly I'd feel for them over something like this if it had happened to one of them.
Manti went on to forgive "Lennay" and that would have been an extremely difficult thing to do for anyone in his shoes.
I was happy to hear that he got married, has a son, and he recently (Nov '21) got sealed to his wife in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
I wish Manti and his family all the best. Hopefully, the documentary brings some added peace to him and helps repair the poor guy's reputation a bit.
