I know coaches are saying they're just holding guys out for recovery days, but you have Romney out for 1+ week (rumors of a kidney injury), Holker out for 1+ week (rumors of a knee injury), Puka out multiple days, Rex stating he won't be 100% until the end of the year and will try to play at 80%.... so many key guys out will have an effect on BYU's offensive effectiveness if they aren't 100% by game 1. May explain why the reports of defense winning most days are coming out of practice.
