Great story...but probably not true (or at least some poetic license taken)

If you look at the 1985 Bucs game against the Colts, the last Indianapolis TD was scored with 4:55 left, making it 31-23. So this story has to happen in the two TB drives after that point.  It's tough to find play-by-play data, but it's out there (see page 8 of http://www.buccaneersfan.com/PDF/Gameday-07/colts_1985_12_15.pdf)

Drive 1

  • [1st/10 from TB 33] Young 9 yard pass to Magee
  • [2nd/1 from TB 42] Young 14 yard pass to House - FIRST DOWN
  • [1st/10 from Indy 44] Young 17 yard pass to Giles - FIRST DOWN
  • [1st/10 from Indy 27] Young intercepted by Daniel at Indy 5 - TURNOVER

Drive 2

  • [1st/10 from Indy 48] Young 11 yard pass to T. Bell - FIRST DOWN
  • [1st/10 from Indy 37] Young sacked for -3 yards, penalty called for offsides
  • [1st/5 from Indy 32] Young incomplete pass for Giles
  • [2nd/5 from Indy 32] Young intercepted by Randle at Indy 5 - TURNOVER

That second play of the second drive could be the hit he was referencing.  There's no mention of a fumble in the play-by-play and it was an offsides call (on the guy who got the sack), rather than a personal foul and also a sack rather than getting hit on a scramble.... but stories change with time and it's possible the fumble wasn't mentioned due to the penalty.
