The B1G will wait out the GORs and may look at this around the next TV deal where they buyout for the ACC will be half of what it is now. The escalation clauses give the B1G the ability to take more teams if it wants. I think Stanford and Cal get the call ahead of UW and UO for geographic, travel, academic, and political reasons. They also serve as perfect BTN filler content which means the conference can get carriage fees from cable providers all throughout CA. That is the REAL reason why Rutgers and MD were taken. Those schools knew they would never be Tier 1 or Tier 2 picks in the B1G but would frequently be on the BTN. This meant large alumni bases in MD and NJ would push for cable packages to include the BTN, which is exactly what happened, and the carriage fees made some extra money for the conference. The concept is similar here.
