I agree here. There is a difference between a simple show of support for a post
like the OP basically did (with no real attempt to engage dialogue) and trying to be some rando old dude attempting to pull a recruit or family member into some conversation.
He basically just liked and positively commented on her post. No harm.
Where that line is could be murky so I admit I stay totally away from it. But what OP did seems fine and harmless to me.
