Of the 247sports top 100 national recruits at “DL” and “Edge”, since our great run in 2020, we have out- recruited Utah, Boise and USU COMBINED in both number and quality of recruits.

2021: we signed Logan Fano at #24 and Victory Vaka at #68 /100. We also signed #59 Enoka Migao but he never enrolled and ended up signing at USU, maybe due to grades? USU also picked up #91. Utah picked up # 75.

2022: we signed Aisea Moa, #44 / 100. Utah signed someone at #68. No other local rivals signed any DL in the top 100.

2023: we committed Siale Esera, #37 / 100. None of our rivals have any DL committed so far in the top 100

Of course recruiting can be hit and miss, two of these signees haven’t enrolled, and it’s too early for the rest to have seen the field yet, but the trend is true, more stars equals more talent. The accusation that BYU coaches are too lazy or incompetent to land DL recruits is false.
