Coug Man in Florida All-American
Tender post time (this feels cheesy but I gotta say it)
Normally after a loss like this I’m sulking and cynical all weekend. While still having a mix of sad and angry feelings, I’m so grateful for our program.

My two oldest boys are 6 years old and this is the first season they really seem to be into football, particularly BYU. Because they’ve seen it on our TV so much, I’ve seen them out all weekend with their BYU jerseys on throwing the football around, chasing and tackling each other, and frequently asking to put the jerseys on. They’re the biggest in their grade while also being one of the youngest. They for a long time now have been pretty skilled at catching and throwing despite not seeming to enjoy football a whole lot. The wasted football potential killed me.

This season has been completely different as I’ve tried to make gamedays fun such as smoking something or cooking something good for them and even letting them stay up a little later for the Baylor game. I see it paying off! Whether they decide to play or not, I’m just happy to have them as football buddies going forward.

Inspite of the occasional disappointment, I owe a lot of thanks to BYU football for these great memories.
