My son just told us about his Mexico City earthquake experience
If you hadn't heard, there was a 7.6 earthquake in Mexico yesterday. My son is in Mexico City, and the epicenter was in the neighboring state all the way on the coast - so not real close.

There have been several large earthquakes in Mexico on September 19th in years past (1985, 2017, 2021) so this year the city decided to have an earthquake preparation drill. The sirens went off and my son and his companion did what they are supposed to do... go outside and try to stay away from any power lines.

Then the drill ended, and they went back inside and resumed their language study. 30 minutes later, the sirens went off again and they wondered if it was another drill, then things started shaking. He said they almost fell a couple of times trying to get outside, and all the trees and power polls were shaking. He said it was "fun", but that a lot of the locals were hysterical because all these earthquakes on September 19th must be a sign from God.
