That is just not what the overall data show, though. That Newsweek article is click bait.
It’s basically an opinion piece for someone with an axe to grind can say controversial that other people with an axe to grind (like you) can latch on to it and feel validated despite the article being misleading.
Are anti depressants perfect? Heavens no. Are they better than placebo when treating depression. Definitely yes.
