Airport experience
First a disclaimer if you are TheBYUGuy, nikuman, PhillyYFan, or any of the others that can't share in my moment of joy being connected to BYU football that the Mtn, Cougar Club and all the other forces have taken from me, then please I am begging you do not read any further, use the back button on your browser and ignore the topic.

First this got me more pumped for football than any daily download, blog, board, chat has. Being out in the sun, wearing your team colors and shouting until you are horse has me feeling in game shape now.

We were not able to get that close to the players as they landed at an alternate landing sight. We were not allowed behind a chain link fence that separated us from the Utes by about 50 yards. When the plane landed I climbed onto a green electric box and held up the banner. I only had one friend with me so he was on the triple threat role of video camera, still photo, and shouting so much at the Utes that I was having a hard time maintaining composure. So sadly due to lack of man power, and not having the right knowledge of how far we would be from the team so I didn't have the right camera lens, neither the still photos nor the video are that great. (I am still working on getting the video online)

The first Utes down didn't see us, that was when the shouting started. After about 5-10 players were all the way down the mobile staircase we started yelling. At which point every member of the Ute travel squad was staring at us. The pictures suck I know, but it was pretty great to see every player and coach take the first steps off the plane hear the yelling and think it was fans cheering for them start to wave then read the sign and try to stop looking at us as they made their way down the steps.

When Whittingham was heading down the steps we yelled in unison to get his attention, he looked up and started to give us a thumbs up, then his head slumpped down and he made his way down the steps.

We then moved over to the exit where the buses were leaving and the first bus had pretty much everyone pressed up against the window looking at us. Mostly smiles, one thumbs up, one bird. The best was Ute booster from the team plane, came through the gate with his golf clubs to meet a friend who was picking him up, and stopped to ask us who Harline was?

Again a fun day, and for a fan who has been screwed over by his school and conference TV deal today is closer to BYU football than I have felt in a long time.

Here are some pics, I know I am a balding fat guy, and the pictures suck. Deal with it.
