This is also my firsthand experience with my Latina wife, her family & friends.
The Spanish language itself is a gendered, masculine and feminine language.
Even some of the most liberal Hispanics and Latinos that we know within those communities have expressed that the use of "Latinx" is unnecessary.
But admittedly, most of our family and close friends within that circle are generally the level headed, non-political types that believe that the term is ridiculous and was imposed upon them by non-Latino whites.
And I don't know a one of them that watches Fox News, or even knows/cares who Tucker Carlson is...🙄
