A taught myself how to cut and style hair in order for me to take care of the kids. My ex wife was terrible at it and
My boys hated to go to church the next day with botched hair. Bangs completely gone and the rest all uneven and chopped up. Hahaha it was so bad.
Once i had it figured out they never let their mother touch their hair again.
It became even easier when my boys got into sports and just wanted a complete buzz cut.
As for me prior to traveling all the time I had a barber take care of hair and beard. Every six weeks or so. About 40 bucks plus a 20 dollar tip. Worth every penny.
If you have kids learn to cut hair and style it as well. Keep clippers cleaned, oiled and sharp. Invest in learning how to do girls hair if you have daughters. I get how important every dollar is when you're raising a family.
