That's quite a broad definition of what a "bad" QB is.
Where did this narrative of BYU constantly giving up big games to nobodies get started? It's just not reality.

Bo Nix, a four-year starter at two major P5 programs who's put up good-to-excellent numbers every season is now a bad QB?

Then we have Alex Hornibrook. Yes, he did have a career day against the worst BYU team in more than 50 years back in 2017. I'll give you that. Although we still need to discuss just how "bad" he was, leading a 13-1 team to the B1G title game that year. They lost to Ohio State by six and Hornibrook went on to win Orange Bowl MVP. So, he's a bad QB now?

That leaves Timmy McClain, who had a decent night against us last year. But it's a bit of a stretch to call 170ish passing yards on 24 attempts (no TDs) and ~50ish rushing yards on 15 carries "amazing" - especially seeing as how his team still lost the game even though we were playing our own backup QB all night.
