So yep, that was totally a key to unleash Mount Doom...but OH MY HOLY FREAKING GOODNESS...why didn't ANY of those supposedly super smart people with so much wisdom think to actually VERIFY that they had, in fact, captured that really important artifact they just ASSUMED was wrapped up in that cloth? Honestly, I'll bet every single viewer of this episode figured that Waldreg had it, and Adar was just a distraction. Seriously. I don't think a single viewer will watch this and be surprised at "Whoa! They totally switched it!" OK, maybe one or two viewers...but most won't be fooled...yet somehow Galadriel was fooled? She didn't verify she actually had that uber important object? MAN that was so frustrating.
And it seemed they almost hinted, again, at a potential romance between Galadriel and Halbrand. For the love of everything holy, NOOOOO. Please, NOOOOOOO. That would not just be simple artistic license, that would be directly contradicting canon so overtly that it would probably be enough for me to bow out of the show and hope it just gets cancelled. So I am REALLY hoping they do NOT go that route. Please don't. Don't do that at all. I don't mind artistic license, within reason...but that would be way beyond reasonable.
But that final scene with Mount Doom...that was awesome.
