Logic says you shouldn't allow emotion to cause you to call a play for a reason like that and you should call the play with the best chance of success (based on all of the factors, including surprise). But I certainly feel it myself when someone gets a huge run or catch and gets pulled down just short of the endzone — I want that guy to get the ball on the next play and get the score. I suspect that some OCs operate this way a bit too.
