You can cherry pick four stats to show we were “lucky” to win, and someone else could say that if Jake had made his easy FGs and Gunner doesn’t drop the TD in the end zone, we win by 22 points. Thus USU was “lucky” that the score looked as close as it did.
The reality is that we won comfortably and no one actually thought the game was ever in doubt. USU played nearly their best game of football in the first game (according to their own head coach) and we played awfully, and the score was tied at halftime.
