And when it comes to painted brick, yes, there are probably some good examples, but for every good example, I bet I could find 2 bad examples where the place is now a dump and needs to be condemned. Most of the time, when brick is painted over, it's an attempt at updating on a tight budget and is just a band-aid. Within a decade, the place looks worse than before the paint.
