Notre Dame averages against what Byu is giving up:
Pts: 25(26.50)
Passing: 209(172.50)
Rushing: 160 (152.5)
TOP: 31:52 (30:35)
Yards/play: 5.43(4.98)
Byu offense vs ND defense:
Pts: 33.50 (24)
Passing: 296.50 (213)
Rushing: 161.50 (142)
TOP: 29:25 (28:07)
Yards/play: 6.79 (5.31)
The key for ND will be to stop Jarens passing. If Jaren passes for 300+ and doesn’t turn it over I think byu scores about 35. However, if Byu can’t average their 6+ yards a play, I think we see a lot of short drives.
I don’t see this as a game that the defense will be much help. The only hope is that they can keep ND out of the end zone and force them to take field goals.
If Jaren plays how he has this year, and the OLine can protect him, this game is winnable and can be a huge boost to his draft stock.
Unfortunately I can see this coming down to a kick, but I hope this is a major uptick for Byu this weekend
