Do you ever feel that when it rains it pours when it comes to expenses?
I've come to learn in life that major financial expenses come in waves. Everything will be going smoothly and then you're hit with three or four major events all at once.

Take this past week as an example. Hurricane Ian knocked over trees into my yard and did some damage to the back fence. It also caused power surges that fried my AC. I resolved all of that yesterday, but it still wasn't enough.

In the 12 years I've been married to my wife we've never had a car accident. However, last night while driving home she rear-ended someone. Luckily it wasn't major and the guy actually looked at his car, gave her a thumbs up, and drove off without saying anything. We just need to make some (hopefully) minor repairs to our car.

I'm now looking at flights for my brother's unexpectedly quick wedding next month and wondering if the storm has passed.
