I feel like targeted resumes that tell a compelling story with quantifiable or differentiating highlights are important - generic resumes go in the garbage when I am reviewing them.
When you get an interview scheduled, preparation is key - Know the business, ask thoughtful questions and identify the experience you have that will be relevant to the job you are interviewing for. Have tried to coach some people on the prep and they just want to wing it. So much better putting in the work now and getting the type of job you want than to take some crap job because you didn't put the work in on the front end of the process.
