That's just not logical.
For your story to make sense, both of the following must be true:

(1) Olson was not responding to a question.....rather, he brought up the notion that RM QBs haven't had much success, and decided to weigh in on the issue.

Which makes more sense to you....that a reporter would bring up the issue, or that Olson would bring up the issue?

Also, which is more consistent with the first paragraph of the article?

"In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Daily News, UCLA quarterback hopeful Ben Olson responded to a remark made by the reporter who was perpetuating the mythical notion that no quarterback who served a two-year mission [for the Mormon faith] had ever returned to become a star quarterback."

(2) Olson actually believed that after having attempted 4 passes in his career, that he was ALREADY better than Doman et al.

That one doesn't even pass the laugh test.

Sorry, I just can't come to your conclusion and still feel good about claiming sanity.
