BYU is shooting 65.5% from the free throw line as a team this year. If that could be improved another 10% it would make a big difference in the outcome of many games. Particularly for the front end of 1 and 1 shots. We don't have anyone that is really automatic at the line. If this could improve, coupled with the improvement in turn overs, I think this team would be a fun and more successful team.

I think USC and Butler would have been wins with less turnovers and and a higher free throw percentage. I think both of these are improvable statistics with individual effort. I also think it will happen as this team gels more and the young guys get more experience.

If you think back on many of our great scorers, they did well offensively, but were automatic at the line. It made a really large difference in their scoring averages. You knew if they got fouled while shooting, they were still going to get the points. I think this team will get there.
