I think the key to productivity & efficiency with Gideon is playing him with leaders he trusts to have the ball in their hands more than himself.
And from what I can see that doesn't include, unfortunately, any wings (though he might be coming around to the notion--that all factors being equal--Robinson shooting is always a superior option to himself shooting; he seemed to be showing signs of leaning that way perhaps last game (let's hope)).
But beyond that, GG does seem to fully respect that the ball on the perimeter is best put in the hands of either Rudi or Dallin.
I think if we play GG wisely personnel-wise, we can get much better than 1-in-5 game productivity outa him. As an overall player, I think he's worth the sacrifice — though it does mean that we'll likely have to impose on the natural rotation slots for SJ & Robinson. As a help defender, GG stands alone. Saunders is proving very valuable that way too.
In a perfect world, I think Gideon should be coming off the bench. But I highly doubt he'd be okay with that.
