Living here in the Pacific Northwest it's dawned on me that with BYU not playing as many west coast teams anymore that recruiting will necessarily change focus to the footprint of the Big12. One of the things historically for BYU recruiting on the west coast is that they could tell the recruits that we'll be coming to your home states so your family can come see you play. They realistically won't be able to say that much anymore esp for OR & WA. I realistically don't see BYU playing in WA or OR for the foreseable future. And this is not just a football thing. The other sports will experience a similar shift. It will be interesting how that dynamic changes things recruiting-wise for BYU Football and all BYU sports - both men's and women.
