We're the two against a mediocre Notre Dame team and then a toss up between BYU, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.

USC get ranked high on the back of a new coach and transfers. Doesn't really play anyone real until Utah. Who at the point didn't have any meaningful wins, but were ranked high because they played Ohio Dtate close in the Rose Bowl... the whole thing is just ridiculous.

And I am not saying Utah isn't good and they as much as anyone in the Pac-12 deserve to be there. And unfortunately the Pac-12 has an automatic tie in to the Rose bowl. But the conference as a whole hasn't done or won any meaningful games in over three years and yet they still keep getting the benefit of the doubt.
