Field awareness and the ability to instinctively find the best angles can make a slower straight line sprinter a serious
threat running in traffic. Too many focus on break away speed vs the ability to move in traffic, take advantage of angles and create one's own blocking by taking lanes that puts your players or even the official between you and a would be tackler. Many of the QB's that have given BYU fits were not strictly the dual threat speedsters. Some of those guys were slow in the open field, but had a way of getting 8 or 10 yards each time they took off.
