There was nothing in games, scrimmages, or any of the film that I ever saw on Conover to say he was the heir to QB1 at BYU. Granted, super small sample size and one man's opinion.

But for a coach who will likely put two QBs, back-to-back, in the NFL and has shown a tendency to play QB2 when QB1 has been injured and didn't do that with Conover...I think it tells us all we need to know.

High school recruiting stars being whatever they are 2-3yrs past a mission, I don't think we're going to be missing much with Conover gone. I hope he proves me wrong and kills it somewhere, but the kid has no film and isn't going to be starter at any D1 program without having to fight to win the spot.
