Big kids picking on little kids triggers me and yesterday at school pickup, I
went all (non)mama bear on some junior high kid who walked up to a small group of elementary kids and unprovoked, shoved a 4th grader hard down in the snow. The younger one just looked up at him like, “what the heck?!” The kids just trying to walk home didn’t know how to react to what they saw.

Now, I don’t know how these 2 boys know each other, and I don’t care. (They didn’t look like brothers, but maybe neighbors? 🤷🏼‍♀️) There was no excuse for what I saw.

I was in my car trying to leave the parking lot, so I rolled down the passenger window and yelled at the big kid to leave him alone. As he walked away from the school, I rolled down my window, leaned out and screamed “if I EVER see you touch that boy again, I will come after you.” 😳😂 I was pissed! He looked at me and then kept walking. It may not have been the wisest thing to say, but all those kids saw someone willing to defend the younger boy. My own kids were pretty surprised by my reaction.

The younger boy could possibly be a punk kid, and being judgmental from the 20 seconds I saw and heard him, he seemed a bit rough (they both did), but I couldn’t not call out that older boy. I was talking to my sister who’s a teacher last night and she said it’s amazing how often adults just stand by and “let kids be kids.” Anyway, now I’ll be watching for this kid. 👀
