And, 4WD helps with traction going forward or uphill, but it does not help you
stop any better. Can’t count the number of drivers I’ve helped after they slid into the ditch or off the road whose first comment was, “I’m not sure why I didn’t stop, my car has AWD”.

Here's another tip. No cruise control when it's slick. Just shut it off. It will get you into trouble.
