Programs will take incoming freshman as always but if they don't pan out they will recruit over them and take a proven player at a lesser school. Then that sophomore or Jr will be released of their scholly to make room and still allow incoming freshman a chance. Makes it so they can miss more often and not really have it affect them. While lesser schools finding the gems in the rough and developing them won't really reap the rewards.
