It’s been about three weeks since the transmission went out in my Explorer, but I really haven’t missed the car.
I had it towed to the dealership, and at the time I dropped it off I asked the Service Advisor about a loaner. He said he’d look into it, but wasn’t sure what he could do since all 65 of their loaners were already in use.

Two days later he called to tell me he found a loaner, so I made arrangements to stop by to get it. Turned out it was a brand new 2022 F150 Texas Edition Super Cab w/ only 51 miles on it. It’s a great ride and it looks like I’ll be driving it for the foreseeable future - my car hasn’t moved from the spot where it was dropped off three weeks ago. The Advisor showed me his list of cars waiting for the transmission to get fixed and many have been there for several months already.

I’ll be bummed when I have to turn the truck back in for my Explorer.
