That’s exceptionally rare for any college message board. Reality is, this is more like an EQ
BYU is awesome. I’m a fan too. Love the program, the academics, the uniqueness of the institution, etc.
Most of my Ute friends feel similar.
But the reality is, inherently most BYU fans and alum have similar interests, beliefs, political leanings, background, geographical location, socioeconomic status etc.
So there are a lot of topics and discussions here, that you wouldn’t have anywhere else… fan Message board or not.
In a world where many political and/or active LDS religious beliefs are constantly monitored and often viciously attacked or mocked, it’s hard to find a safe haven for open dialogue.
The Ute / rivalry smack back and forth Is good natured. I think the general sense is that Utes are getting full of themselves with Rose Bowls and top 10 rankings, but BYU fans still see numerous losses, obvious flaws it’s superior programs out there… Trying to keep it real.
Good discussions.
