Being affiliated with a religion will always be an advantage with some athletes. Yes I know, it will also be used against them but it is still an advantage that can yield great athletes. The change in defensive coordinator is an advantage that has made a difference. Hopefully it will continue to give even better. BYU has a social environment that is advantageous in recruiting certain athletes of all faiths. The style of offense is an advantage.
Certainly BYU doesn’t have the same kind of advantages as elsewhere but it is wrong to believe that BYU has no advantages.
