RE: Yikes. Do you have something against exercise?
I have nothing against exercise, but I do have an issue with equating physical fitness with ones worth.

Working on your body is simply a vanity project. It can show dedication and will power and help with your health, but it can also do none of those things.

I know people who have never worked out and are in great shape and are wonderful, happy, dedicated humans. I have know people who work out religiously and have completely stopped interacting with their family and kids. I know people who are overweight and work harder on themselves than anyone else, and I know gym bros that have drug addictions and have hurt everyone in their lives.

A strong body can help make a strong mind, but a strong body does not create a strong mind. And for many many people, working on the mind needs to come first and working on the body may never be an option.

It is wonderful that his journey went the way it did, and positive encouragement is not a bad thing. But going from obese to fit or from fit to obese is nothing more than the measure of ones size. Period.
