The cost/benefit to those two additional high school years (first two years of college) while paying tuition, room, board, etc., is out of control. VERY few degrees need to be "four-year" degrees. This is particularly frustrating when considering the professional degrees that require an undergrad degree--but the major is irrelevant.
This will not change until a few "brand name" colleges break from the pack, develop 2-3 year degrees and make the others play catch-up. It will, of course, require a paradigm shift from those in HR.
But . . . not in my lifetime . . .
