working, it’s definitely worth it long term. The shoulder(s) will likely only get worse otherwise and the older and weaker she gets the harder the rehab process will be.
It is important that she be dedicated to the rehab process. It’s not a surgery you can just sit back and let sit to heal. You need to be meticulous and it lasts a while. If she does this she’ll be so happy she did later.
One thing to add, not everyone needs it just because of chronic conditions such as an impingement (which if left untreated leads to rotator cuff tears then surgery is required). These, if you do therapy early enough AND change some habits such as posture, sleeping on it, too much hunching at the computer, etc it can be permanently fixed without surgery. This was the case with me. I thought I’d need surgery. Kept getting the shots which would work for a few months but when they’d wear off it felt like I made my shoulder worse because it numbed my sensation of the damage being caused. Now for the first time in almost a decade I’ve gone more than 3 months without the impingement/pain, which I’m actually approaching 2 years pain free. If you’d like more info you can DM me.
