One of our best activities was an egg drop. The boys were to bring what they wanted to build with, but the leaders also brought materials.
We're in Arizona, so we regularly go swimming in the summer. Those are some of our best attended activities.
One time we looked through a telescope at some things, that one didn't go as well as I'd hoped, one kid having fun while the others wait in line. After looking at the telescope, we did play laser tag in the same field, and that went over very well.
We had a game of flag football on Thanksgiving, activities are usually on Wednesday.
We carve pumpkins the Wednesday before Halloween every year. This one is always well liked.
We did a soap carving, this seemed to go over pretty well.
We did an indoor frisbee golf game once, it went okay. Not our best. The targets were just towels screwed to 2x4s that made kind of a v.
One activity was we did mother's Day cards right before mother's Day. Like the moms may have liked this one more than the boys.
We usually have a board game night from time to time, those go over really well.
One of my fallbacks is to play Jeopardy. I have a PowerPoint you can find online, and I pick categories that the kids love, Disney, Star wars, MCU, Minecraft, sports, etc.
Video game night, had an Xbox, Wii u and a PS4.
I think our best activity ever was when we built one of those ladder games. I had a bunch of old golf balls laying around, drilled some holes in them, tied string between them, and had the plastic pipe cut out for the boys just to put together the ladders, one for each boy. I think we blew almost our whole budget on the activity but everyone loved it 🙂
