I bought an electric scooter for $600. It is great during good weather. I take it on the bus, and I don’t inconvenience my wife for a ride to the stop. Winter is a different story, but I make it work. She either drops me off, or I park the car at the bus stop.

Sure, the scooter negates the savings, but only in the first year. Plus it’s super fun, and my kids like to ride it around when I’m not using it. It’s great to zip around the neighborhood or even to go to the store to get a few things.
