So I have a co-worker that has passed away. His funeral services are about an hour away. He was Catholic so they are having a viewing on Friday and Mass on Saturday. I'm ok going to either one, but I don't know if I feel the need to go to both. We weren't "hangout outside of work" close. We worked in separate offices but collaborated often. He was a good guy and we had a lot of mutual respect for each other.

Is only going to the Mass an appropriate showing of respect or should I make the trek out to attend both?
