My wife and I have planet fitness memberships. For those who don't know, they have an express 30 min workout where you rotate clockwise from machine to machine. You're supposed to do some sort of body weight workout in-between each machine, ie squats, calf raises etc.
There is a red light green light system that tells you when to workout, and when to stop to rotate to the next exercise. The instructions are clearly marked in the room and on a sign as you enter. It isn't a place to go do sets.
With all that said, people either don't pay attention, don't care, or are too dumb to figure it out. I was lamenting to my wife how two 20 something girls jumped right in front of my rotation and started taking turns doing sets with multiple machines. I just got frustrated and left to do something else.
She asked why I didn't just tell the girls I'm following the instructions and they have to do those exercises elsewhere. I informed her as an older guy, I can't approach young women at the gym or I'd wind up on tiktok and labeled a creep.
