1. No team has a bye before playing us. I think there were four opponents in 2022 who were coming off of a bye when they played us.
- Kansas has a road game at Nevada before hosting us
- Cincy is hosting Oklahoma before traveling to Provo on a short week
- TCU will have played 6 straight games before hosting us - and we're coming off of our bye
- Texas Tech will have played 7 straight games before traveling to Provo
- Texas will play at Houston before hosting us
- West Virginia will being hosting us in their fourth game after their bye and will have just played at UCF
- Iowa State will have just hosted Kansas and be three games off their bye week
- Oklahoma will have just hosted West Virginia and be in their fifth game off their bye week
- Oklahoma State will be in their 8th game off their bye week to end the season and will have just been on the road to UCF and Houston in the previous two weeks

2. Splitting the season into quarters, you have the first three sets with a distinct possibility of going 2-1 in the first three quarters
- 2 Ws in SHS and SUU, L at Arkansas
- 2 Ws in Kansas and Cincy, L at TCU
- 2 Ws in TT and WVU, L at Texas

3. Likely 1-2 in the last quarter with W vs ISU and Ls to the Oklahoma teams

That's the path to a 7-5 season and a better bowl destination than BYU has seen since its Cotton Bowl season.

4. Tom has got to maximize the schedule so that we have 7 home games every season. FCS and G5 one-n-done matchups every year with a road game against a P5 every other year in home and home agreements - but only when we have 5 home games in the Big 12 schedule.
