BIG12 schedule comes with a chance to play for something... Independence doesn't... that's the reality of it...
And while that's been downplayed for the last 11 years, the reality of it is... having the chance to play for a conference championship, even if you have a slim chance of winning it, is still significantly better than what Independence brought.

With Tenn, UVA, USU, Arkansas, Boise, UCF, and USC on the schedule this was about the height of Independent scheduling
